Steps to Register

Everything you need to know to register your team for the Coptic League Basketball Season.

Before You Begin

Make sure you have these items ready before starting registration

Priest Approval Required: A parish priest must approve formation of all registering teams and corresponding coaching staff. Forgoing parish approval may result in team withdrawal at any point before or during the season.

Priest Approval

Your parish priest must approve all participating coaches and allow them to form and lead a team before registration.

Team Name Ready

All registering members should reference the team names table below. If registering two teams in the same division, use A and B suffix (e.g., "Northridge Defenders A", "Northridge Defenders B"). For new teams or name changes, check with the league for availability and approval.

Player Info

Have player names, email addresses, and birth dates ready for roster submission.

Coach / Team Manager

Registering a team as head coach or team manager? Follow these steps to get your team set up.

Steps to Register

  1. Select your league (Junior High, High School, Men's, Women's, or Geezers)
  2. If registering as COACH only, set "Incl. Player Registration" to "No". If you're also playing, keep it as "Yes".
  3. Add Enrollment and proceed to checkout
  4. Input team name as you want it to appear (e.g., "Pomona Warriors")
  5. Select church name from dropdown, accept terms, click Next
  6. Verify cart and contact info, then "Place Order"
  7. Go to "Manage Roster" → "Add to Roster" and add each player/coach's name and email
  8. For players under 18, add the parent's email, not the player's
  9. Once all players are enrolled, click "Submit" to complete registration

Player (Over 18)

Received an invitation email from your coach? Here's how to complete your registration.

Steps to Register

  1. Check your email for the registration link from your coach
  2. Click the link in your email
  3. Follow the steps to register and enter all information correctly
  4. Complete your profile and submit

Player (Under 18)

Parents/guardians must register players under 18. Here's how to complete registration for your child.

Steps for Parents/Guardians

  1. Check your email for the registration link (sent to parent's email)
  2. Click the link and create an account for your child
  3. Find the "Enroll" section and enter your child's name
  4. Enroll them on the team roster
  5. Complete all required information and submit

What to expect once you've submitted your registration.

Important Notes

  1. Confirmed registered players will appear on the site under your roster
  2. If a player didn't follow through on registration, they are not officially on your roster
  3. Coaches must "Submit" the roster once they have a minimum of 5 players
  4. Verify all players are eligible to play for the team being registered

Age / Birth Year Eligibility

Players must play based on birth year, not school grade

A valid government-issued ID with birthdate is required for all players (passport, birth certificate, driver's license).
Division Birth Year Requirement
Junior High (Boys & Girls) Born September 1, 2011 or later. Those born Sept 1, 2011 – Aug 31, 2012 may choose JH or HS.
High School Girls Born September 1, 2007 or later. Those born Sept 1, 2007 – Aug 31, 2008 may choose HS or Women's.
High School Boys Born September 1, 2007 or later. Those born Sept 1, 2007 – Aug 31, 2008 may choose HS or Men's.
Women's * Born 2009 or earlier. Those born in 2009 may choose HS or Women's.
Men's * Born 2009 or earlier. Those born in 2009 may choose HS or Men's.
Geezers (35+) Born 1991 or earlier. If born 1992 or later, you are ineligible.

Exception for Women's & Men's Divisions: Players born after 2009 who don't have HS teams available in their churches to join, and have agreement with coaches, may participate but assume the risks of playing with older competition.

⚠️ Important Reminders

  • Review the League Rules before registering
  • Eligibility: All coaches and players must be baptized in the Coptic Orthodox Church or a sister church (Syriac, Armenian, Ethiopian, Eritrean, or Malankara Orthodox)
  • Team Names & Jerseys: Must adhere to league rules — no church names on jerseys, and designs should be unique to avoid duplicates, especially within divisions
  • Coaches: Must be approved by your parish priest before registration; team name is pending league approval
  • Players Under 18: Must be registered by a parent or guardian
  • Roster Changes: Once registered, players cannot switch teams after registration closes
  • Church Not Listed? If your church doesn't appear in the dropdown, email the league
